Senior Jordan Woolery has been named the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance in softball competitions held from February 3 to 9. Woolery achieved a batting average of .667, going 10-for-15 with a team-leading 14 RBIs and five home runs, including a grand slam. Her efforts contributed to UCLA’s 5-0 start to the season, with all victories coming by mercy rule.
Woolery recorded multiple hits and homered in four out of five starts. On the opening day, she went 6-for-7 with nine RBIs, two home runs, and a grand slam. In Saturday’s game against Oregon State, she hit a two-RBI double and a solo home run. Against UC Riverside in the final game of the weekend, Woolery hit two home runs as part of an eight-home-run team performance that set a new single-game record for the program. This marked her fourth career multi-home-run game. The first of her two home runs against UC Riverside was one of five by UCLA in the first inning, tying for third-most in a single inning in NCAA history.
The Bruins also set program records during Week 1 for most runs scored (58) and most home runs (23).
This is Woolery’s fifth time receiving UCLA’s student-athlete of the week honor.
