Senior infielder Jordan Woolery of the No. 7-ranked UCLA softball team has been named Big Ten Player of the Week following her performance during the team’s undefeated opening weekend for the 2026 season.
This is Woolery’s first time receiving a conference weekly honor. She recorded 10 hits in 15 at-bats, drove in 14 runs, and tied for the team lead with five home runs over five games. Woolery, who is from Walnut Creek, California, had multiple hits and hit at least one home run in four out of her five starts at first base.
On the opening day of the season, Woolery went 6-for-7 with nine RBIs and two home runs—including a grand slam—in victories over UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside that ended early due to the mercy rule. On Saturday, she contributed with a two-RBI double and a solo home run against Oregon State.
In UCLA’s final game of the weekend against UC Riverside, Woolery hit two home runs as part of an eight-home-run effort by the Bruins—a new single-game record for the program. This marked her fourth career multi-home-run game. Her first homer in that game was one of five hit by UCLA in the first inning, tying for third-most in a single inning in NCAA history.
UCLA also set new program records for most runs (68) and most home runs (23) scored during Week 1 across their five victories, all achieved via run-rule margins.
The Bruins will begin their first road trip next week at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational held at Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida. Their tournament opener is scheduled for Friday, February 13th against No. 24 Oklahoma State followed by Missouri later that day. All five games will be available on television or livestream through ESPN networks.
