Former Santa Monica High School standout Jonathan Olmedo helped his current team, the Benedict Tigers, achieve a 20-13 win over the Kentucky State Thorobreds in their NCAA Division II baseball clash Saturday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m.
The contest took place at Western Hills Baseball Field and marked the teams’ second meeting this season. In their earlier matchup the same day, the Tigers defeated the Thorobreds 13-7.
Olmedo pitched for two innings, tallying one walk and striking out five batters.
The Tigers are set to face Kentucky State Thorobreds again at Western Hills Baseball Field on Sunday, March 1, at 12 p.m.
