UCLA fifth-year senior Jamar Brown was named an NCAA Division I Academic All-District selection by the College Sports Communicators on March 25.
The recognition highlights Brown’s achievements both in academics and athletics. Earning this honor for a second consecutive year, Brown demonstrates continued commitment to academic excellence while competing at a high level in collegiate basketball.
Brown first received Academic All-District honors as a fourth-year senior at the University of Missouri Kansas City last spring. After transferring to UCLA as a graduate student, he averaged 3.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 season and was one of two Bruins players, along with Xavier Booker, to participate in all 36 games for the team.
To qualify for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average as both undergraduate and graduate students. In men’s and women’s basketball, honorees are also required to have played in at least ninety percent of their team’s games or started in two-thirds of competitions.
Brown grew up in Chandler, Arizona, began his college career at Phoenix College before moving on to UMKC where he played as a junior and senior. He spent his final year of eligibility with UCLA enrolled in a graduate-level marketing program.
Some recipients of the Academic All-District award may advance later this spring for consideration on the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
