A total of 16 former UCLA Bruins football players participated in Week 7 of the NFL regular season, with several making notable contributions for their respective teams.
Running back Zach Charbonnet of the Seattle Seahawks rushed for 49 yards and scored two touchdowns on 12 carries, helping lead his team to a 27-19 victory over the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. This marked Charbonnet’s third career game with multiple rushing touchdowns, bringing his season total to five. He also caught two passes for six yards.
Quentin Lake, safety for the Los Angeles Rams, had a standout performance during the team’s 35-7 win against Jacksonville at Wembley Stadium in London. Lake started the game, recorded six tackles, forced a fumble, made a 13-yard sack, and broke up two passes.
Other former Bruins in action included Ka’imi Fairbairn, kicker for the Houston Texans, who made both of his field goal attempts and an extra point, improving his season record to 13-for-15 on field goals and a perfect 10-for-10 on extra points.
Darnay Holmes, cornerback for the Las Vegas Raiders, made one tackle while playing both defense and special teams. Carl Jones, linebacker for the Chicago Bears, contributed two tackles on special teams.
Laiatu Latu, defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts, started the game and registered three tackles, including a nine-yard sack and four quarterback hits. Darius Muasau, linebacker for the New York Giants, started and tallied six tackles in a close loss to Denver, playing the majority of defensive snaps.
Osa Odighizuwa, defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys, started and made one tackle in his team’s win over Washington. Carson Schwesinger, linebacker for the Cleveland Browns, led his team with seven tackles in a win over Miami, helping to limit the Dolphins to only two field goals.
Colson Yankoff, tight end for the Washington Commanders, made a tackle on special teams and participated in both offensive and special teams snaps.
Several other former UCLA players, including Jake Brendel (San Francisco 49ers), Kenny Clark (Dallas Cowboys), Jon Gaines II (Arizona Cardinals), Andre James (Los Angeles Chargers), Otito Ogbonnia (Los Angeles Chargers), and Sean Rhyan (Green Bay Packers), also saw playing time but did not record statistics. Alec Anderson (Buffalo Bills) was on a bye week.
